Piedmont Devo holds weekly mountain bike rides for middle schoolers with an emphasis on fun and safety.
Season: The 2026 season will start with Fun Rides in October and November and the regular season will begin in January 2026 and run until May.
Location: We primarily ride at Joaquin Miller Park (JMP) with occasional trips to other nearby trails.
Frequency: We will ride once per week on Sunday @ 10am, for about 2.5 hours.
Ride Groups: We organize into several ride groups with a minimum coach:rider ratio of 1:6 or 2:8, consistent with NICA/Norcal guidelines. Ride groups ride independently of each other and seek to use different trails at different times. We are dependent on trained volunteer coaches to support multiple ride groups. Consider joining as a coach!
Fees: $215 overall in fees for the 2026 season; consisting of $115 fee paid to NICA ($55)/Norcal League ($60) for rider insurance and $100 team fee to Piedmont Devo covering team registration with NICA, team liability and injury insurance, basic coaching/administrative support and fees, and discounts at certain local bike shops.
Race fees are additional costs if your rider wishes to race (~$55 / race). Bundle all four race entries for a custom race plate and a savings of $20! That's $200 instead of $220. Deadline to purchase a discounted bundle is December 1st. After that it will be $220.
Each rider receives a Piedmont DEVO T-shirt. Additional jerseys and accessories will be available for purchase at the beginning of the season.
